Overview
The goal of this module is to examine the differences between inpatient nursing care and ambulatory nursing care and successful transition strategies.Goals and Learning Outcomes
- Identify major societal and healthcare industry changes and their impact on ambulatory care practice
- List at least three differences between ambulatory care settings and inpatient settings
- Discuss reasons that nurses are motivated to practice in ambulatory care
- Discuss challenges faced by nurses transitioning from inpatient to ambulatory care settings
- Describe preceptor strategies to facilitate a successful transition into ambulatory care
- Identify at least three differences between ambulatory care settings and inpatient settings and how societal and healthcare industry changes have increased the prevalence of ambulatory care settings.
- Recognize specific challenges faced by nurses transitioning from inpatient to ambulatory care settings and recall strategies to facilitate a successful transition into ambulatory care.
