Goals and Outcomes
Goals and Learning Outcomes
Bullying is a pervasive issue that can be traumatic for the individual being bullied with long-term effects. Bullying can take on many forms, including physical, relational, cyber, and sexual. To effectively combat this type of victimization, those working with youth need to be able to distinguish bullying from other types of conflict to develop an appropriate response. This course will explore the varied roles of those involved in bullying situations of children and adolescents and explore how school-based targeted interventions and universal strategies can be effective tools in bullying prevention and intervention.

After taking this course, you should be able to:

  • Identify the types of bullying and factors that increase its risk.
  • Recall key ways to identify when bullying is occurring and how to respond effectively.
  • Indicate at least three specific interventions that are available to support youth who have been bullied or who bully others.
