Overview
The goal of this course is to prepare nurses in labor and delivery with the ability to manage and care for newborns.Goals and Learning Outcomes
- Discuss steps necessary to provide neonatal resuscitation
- Identify risk factors for the late preterm infant
- Review neurological behaviors of the normal newborn
- Identify two ways that a newborn regulates body temperature
- Review newborn nursing assessments and management strategies for abnormal findings and need for neonatal resuscitation.
- Describe three adaptive changes that occur in the newborn during transition to extrauterine life
