This course aims to prepare the registered nurse working in the rehabilitation setting to complete the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Exam (CRRN®).Goals and Learning Outcomes
Optimizing communication is essential for the rehabilitation registered nurse, as it aids in improving patients’ health. The nurse must understand the anatomy and physiology of the brain. There are critical steps to language development in order for advanced communication skills to occur. This course will cover language development, advanced communication skills, communication techniques, and speech disorders.
This course aims to prepare the registered nurse working in the rehabilitation setting to complete the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Exam (CRRN®).
- Recall the anatomy and physiology of communication and speech.
- Describe the different types of speech difficulties, aphasia, and areas of the brain affected.
- Recall basic communication techniques and sensitive cultural differences in communication.
