This course aims to prepare the registered nurse working in the rehabilitation setting to complete the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Exam (CRRN®).Goals and Learning Outcomes
Optimizing elimination and sleep patterns are essential for the rehabilitation registered nurse to improve a patient's health. The nurse must understand the anatomy and physiology of elimination and sleep patterns. Additionally, implementing and evaluating interventions for incontinence or altered sleep patterns is crucial to the health and well-being of the patient. A rehabilitation registered nurse must understand these essential principles for successful rehabilitation and health improvement. In this course, we will discuss the anatomy and physiology of the gastrointestinal and urinary systems. We will discuss various disease processes, assessment techniques, and pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
This course aims to prepare the registered nurse working in the rehabilitation setting to complete the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Exam (CRRN®).
- Recall the anatomy and physiology of the bowel and bladder.
- Identify the nursing processes to optimize a person’s elimination patterns, alterations, changes, and bowel and bladder diseases.
- Describe the stages of sleep and the effects of alteration in these stages.
