Overview
This course explores the role of the nurse informatician (commonly referred to as a nurse informaticist) and how it has evolved over time. It explains legislation that has spurred the adoption of electronic health records and the training of more health information technology professionals; it also explores the different settings in which nurse informaticists can work. Additionally, the course describes the educational preparation and the certifications available to nurses pursuing this specialty.Goals and Learning Outcomes
