Overview
The goal of this course is to provide registered nurses with information about how and why to begin their journey to obtain their BSN.
Goals and Outcomes
Goals and Learning Outcomes

The American Nurses Association (ANA) published the “ANA’s First Position on Education for Nursing” in 1965, advising the BSN as the “entry to practice” level of education. Extensive research has been published since that time validating improved outcomes for patients cared for by nurses with at least a BSN degree. This course reviews research related to patient outcomes and provides strategies for safely navigating the BSN journey.

After taking this course, you should be able to:

  • Explain why the recommendation to increase the number of baccalaureate prepared nurses exists.
  • State at least three research-based patient outcomes related to nurses with a BSN education.
  • Describe educational options for RNs to achieve their BSN.
