Overview
Most experts agree that excess weight gain, whether in adults or children, is due to routinely consuming more calories than the body burns each day. Small everyday decisions, like how much to eat and drink, whether or not to be physically active, and even whether or not to step on a scale to monitor body weight can, over time, impact body weight and health. This webinar will discuss the research and facts regarding beverage calories and consumption.

The goal of this webinar is to describe the consumption of caloric and non-caloric beverages by US socio-demographic groups and to suggest ways to manage beverage choices. Upon completion, participants will be able to do the following:
  • Describe US consumption patterns for sweetened beverages, diet beverages, and bottled water.
  • Discuss laboratory studies on sweetness, hunger and satiety
  • Interpret studies linking the consumption of beverages and body weight
