Overview
The goal is to educate about risk factors and complications associated with obstructive sleep apnea, as well as evidence-based treatment for the condition.Goals and Learning Outcomes
According to data from the Wisconsin Sleep Cohort study (2015), approximately 34% of men and 17% of women have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in the U.S. This disorder contributes to other serious medical conditions and increases the risk of stroke or death from any cause. Risk factors, diagnosis, and management of OSA will be addressed in this course.
- Identify at least three symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea.
- Recognize risk factors and complications of obstructive sleep apnea.
- Describe the diagnosis process and management of obstructive sleep apnea.
