The goal of this course is to review nursing best practices for the care of patients with sports injuries. It includes a review of the relevant anatomy, signs and symptoms, complications, and management of common sports injuries, as well as strategies for injury prevention.
The goal of this course is to help prepare nurses in the acute care setting for the ONC® exam.
- Identify common sports injuries, the activities with which they are associated, and the anatomy of structures involved in common sports injuries.
- Describe sports injury assessment and management.
- Discuss five potential complications of sports injuries, and the psychosocial impact associated with these injuries.
