Healthcare is an industry where measuring data is imperative to managing performance. This course will teach nurse leaders in the acute care setting how to use data to tell a story and highlight opportunities for improvement. The module will provide examples of different types of quality metrics and explain how data evaluation can be used to drive quality improvement and optimize value-based care.


After taking this course, you should be able to:

  • State data measurement methods and data analysis tools used for quality measures.
  • Identify the importance of data transparency and monitoring in successful performance improvement.
  • Identify the difference between process and outcome metrics.
