Goals and Learning Outcomes

Testicular cancer strikes at a time when men are at the prime of their lives, between the ages of 20 and 34. It is during this time when many ignore preventive healthcare. Early diagnosis, treatment, education, and follow-up are very important for young men to both facilitate detection and avoid advanced-stage disease.

The goal of this course is to provide clinicians with current information about the etiology, risk factors, detection, diagnostic workup, treatment modalities, and prognosis of testicular cancer in addition to practical patient teaching strategies.

After taking this course, you should be able to:

  • Identify men at highest risk for testicular cancer
  • Discuss the detection, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis for testicular cancer
  • Describe teaching strategies related to testicular cancer and testicular self-examination
  • Identify the population of men at highest risk for testicular cancer.
  • Discuss the detection, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis for testicular cancer.
  • Describe teaching strategies related to testicular cancer and testicular self-examination.
